Local Attractions

Hinds cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the Welsh Borders - an area
steeped in history due to years of unrest between the Welsh and the
English. The historic medieval market towns of Ludlow, Leominster
and Shrewsbury are all within easy driving distance. The "black and
white" village trail will take you along quiet country lanes to quaint
villages and hamlets that remain untouched by time. There are several
National trust and English Heritage properties close by such as, Wigmore Castle,
Stokesay Castle, Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Powys Castle. Local beauty
spots such as The Long Mynd, Elan Valley Dams, the Black mountains and
the Brecon Beacons are all worth a visit too. For those with the energy
to explore the beautiful countryside by foot, Offas Dyke and Mortimers Trail
are very near.
